Appraisal Institute - The Appraisal Institute is an international membership association of professional real estate appraisers that supports and advances its members as the choice for real estate solutions and uphold professional credentials, standards of professional practice and ethics consistent with the public good.
Foundation of Real Estate Appraisers – FREA was founded in 1991 to fill a gap in the market for real estate appraiser continuing education. Today, with over 10,000 members, FREA is the largest professional organization for appraisers and home inspectors in the country. FREA provides E&O insurance, education and other benefits to its members. Its sister company, NDCdata.com, provides state of the art, low-cost online data to more than 2,500 appraisers in California. FREA also publishes the Communicator magazine, ("The Voice of our Nation’s Appraisers & Home Inspectors") which has a quarterly circulation of over 125,000 readers.
National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers – NAIFA is a non-profit professional association of real estate appraisers. The Association's objectives are to raise the standards of the appraisal profession, gain recognition for its members as qualified professionals, and to promote fellowship among appraisers. Our objectives, along with a professionally recognized testing and certifying program we conduct, affords reasonable assurance to the general public of the professional expertise, integrity, and responsibility of the members of the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers.
National Association of Master Appraisers – NAMA was organized in 1982 and quickly grew to become one of the major real estate appraisal associations in the United States. The non-profit association is sponsored by the Appraisal Foundation, and is a guiding force throughout the industry in promoting professionalism. NAMA members come from many diverse backgrounds and fields of expertise. Among the ranks of NAMA members are residential, commercial, and farm and land appraisers. Other NAMA members specialize in special types of properties, from manufactured housing to complex commercial and industrial properties. Some also perform specialized services for their clients such as appraising machinery and equipment, doing relocation appraisals and real estate counseling. Others are review appraisers or perform environmental services. NAMA is truly an association of a broad spectrum of the appraisal profession.
